Wheelchair lifts and accessibility

All Downeast Transportation buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

Buses may deviate up to 3/4 mile upon request. Requests for route deviations must be received at least 24 hours before the trip's departure. Deviations must be no greater than 3/4 of a mile. For more information, please call 667-5796.

Browsealoud provides improved accessibility for people who have difficulty reading web content, and for people who prefer to listen instead of read.

Activate Browsealoud on your computer, iPad, or smartphone by clicking on the orange 'speak' button at the bottom of each website page. This will launch the Browsealoud toolbar that docks to the top or bottom of the screen. Now click on the first 'pointed finger' icon on that toolbar and hover your mouse pointer over any text on our site to hear it read out loud.
